Join us for an unconventional experience, where you will get to know a unique side of the Fitz Roy mountain: its north face.
We start our day by travelling by shuttle from El Chaltén to the Río Eléctrico Bridge, a journey of approximately 40 minutes along Provincial Route 41.
From this bridge, the starting point of our adventure, we will enter the path that we will walk for about two hours, surrounded by lush forests of lenga trees and following the course of the valley of the Río Eléctrico.
We will reach the historic Refugio Piedra del Fraile, a place of cultural significance as it was the refuge of Padre de Agostini during his exploration of the area.
After leaving the refuge behind, we will continue along the right bank of the Río Eléctrico, in a more challenging area due to the winds coming from the Ice Field. From here, we will get a unique perspective of Cerro Fitz Roy, with views of its north face.
After walking for a little over an hour, we will find ourselves in front of the impressive Pollone Lagoon and Glacier. Surrounded by the majesty of these mountains and glaciers, we will have the opportunity to enjoy lunch, weather permitting.
For our return, we will follow the same route that marked our departure, taking with us the memories of this day in the middle of nature.
