Two days of adventure to Loma del Pliegue Tumbado!

DAY 1: Exploring towards Laguna Torre

Our journey begins in the charming town of El Chaltén, from where we embark on the trail that will lead us to the impressive Laguna Torre. Initially, after a short ascent, we immerse ourselves in a small Ñire forest that offers us a natural welcome.

From this point, the trail gradually rises and follows the course of the Fitz Roy River, offering us panoramic views of the deep river canyon and the beautiful Margarita Waterfall. After the first 2 kilometres of our walk, we reach the viewpoint of the majestic Cerro Torre, a breathtaking viewpoint.

From here, the trail becomes less steep as we approach the lagoon. On this stretch, there is the exciting possibility of spotting a diversity of birds, including the elegant Magellanic Woodpecker. The Torre Lagoon, with its characteristic presence of ice floes detached from the Torre glacier, welcomes us in its splendour. Weather permitting, we will have the opportunity to extend our walk to the Maestri viewpoint, adding an additional 1 kilometre to our hike. After a well-deserved break to enjoy our provisions and take in the views, we will set up camp.

DAY 2: Towards the summit of the Tumbado Fold

After a hearty breakfast, we head towards the source of the Fitz Roy River, where the thrilling zip line awaits us. Crossing the river on this taut rope and hanging from a harness, an ascending path through the forest awaits us. We cross Las Agachonas Pass towards the summit of Pliegue Tumbado, from where we will be rewarded with exceptional views of the peaks of Cerro Solo, Cerro Torre and Fitz Roy. Our adventure culminates with a descent towards the village along the trail that leads us to the National Parks, bringing with it unforgettable memories and a deep connection with the nature that surrounds us.

It is possible to do it in one day, depending on physical and weather conditions.
