Laguna Torre
We invite you to this experience where you can explore the untouched landscapes of Patagonia, admire the native flora and fauna, and marvel at every step.
At the start of this adventure, just 15 minutes from the village, we will enter an enchanting Ñire forest, a perfect introduction to the natural environment that surrounds us. As we advance, the trail will take us parallel to the Fitz Roy riverbed, gradually ascending until we reach a viewpoint that offers panoramic views of the impressive river canyon and the majestic Margarita Waterfall. After the first 2 kilometres of hiking, we will reach the viewpoint of the imposing Cerro Torre, the Grande Glacier, Cerro Solo and Las Adelas, a view that will take your breath away.
From this point onwards, the trail becomes gentler in terms of gradient as we head towards the Laguna Torre. This section of the trail will give us the opportunity to see a wide variety of flora and fauna. As we approach Laguna Torre, we will witness ice floes floating in its waters, the result of the detachments of the Grande glacier.
Once we reach the lagoon, weather permitting, we will have the opportunity to ascend to the Maestri viewpoint, adding an additional 1 kilometre to our hike.
From this point, we will be able to enjoy a well-deserved break for lunch and admire the panoramic views. Finally, in the afternoon, we will return to El Chaltén with the memories of this unique experience in Patagonia, taking with us the beauty of its landscapes and the satisfaction of having conquered this natural challenge.
