Itinerary:

DAY 1: Heading to Laguna Toro.

Distance: 16 Km.
Duration: 7 hs.
Difference in altitude: Approximately 500 mts.

Our journey begins in El Chaltén, passing the National Park offices and entering the trail that will take us to the impressive Laguna Toro. Along the way, we will witness diverse landscapes, from views of the vast steppe to the majestic Lago Viedma. As we progress, we will reach the valley of the Túnel River. We will cross some bridges and pass through dense forest before arriving at the camp at Laguna Toro, an area specially set up for our campsite.

DAY 2: From Toro Lagoon to Paso del Viento Refuge

Distance: 16 Km.
Duration: 7/8 hs.
Difference in altitude: 900 mts.

After enjoying a hearty breakfast and breaking camp, we will head towards our next destination: the Refugio Paso del Viento. This section will take us over a difference in altitude of approximately 900 metres. Along the way, we will cross the Túnel River, depending on its flow, either by wading or by zipline. In addition, we will walk over glacial moraine terrain as we ascend to the Paso del Viento, located at 1550 meters above sea level. From this point, we will enjoy breathtaking views of the Ice Field, the source of the Viedma Glacier and the majestic Cerro Mariano Moreno, among others. We will conclude the day setting up our camp near the Refugio Paso del Viento.

DAY 3: Adventure to Huemul Pass and Lake Viedma

Distance: 18 km.
Duration: 6/7 hs.
Difference in altitude: 800 mts.

After a hearty breakfast, we will start our hike around the imposing Cerro Huemul. This stage of the trail presents a smoother and more gradual terrain in terms of slope. As we advance, we will begin the ascent to the Huemul Pass, from where we will witness the grandeur of the Viedma Lake and Glacier. The descent will take us down a very steep path through the dense forest. We will arrive at Cape Horn Bay, where we will set up our last camp.

DAY 4: Return to El Chaltén from Bahía Túnel

Distance: 15 km.
Duration: 6 hs.
Difference in altitude: 200 mts.

This day marks the end of our trek. After breakfast and dismantling the camp, we will start our hike along the shores of Lake Viedma. As we cross the steppe, we will notice that the terrain does not present major changes in altitude. We will reach the Túnel River, crossing it again on our way. Shortly after, we will meet the transport that will take us back to El Chaltén from the Port of Bahía Túnel, thus completing this exciting journey through the Patagonian wilderness.

We guarantee your safety and optimal experience at every stage of the journey.
